SONS OF CREAM – Live in Concert. Sunday 11 May – Afternoon 3.30pm (doors 3pm)

The CAT Club presents The Sunday Showdown with
SONS OF CREAM live in concert.
Afternoon show 3.30pm.

Collectively, Ginger Baker (drums), Jack Bruce (bass) and Eric Clapton (guitar) were known as Cream. They were one of the first rock supergroups to emerge from the British rhythm and blues movement of the 1960s. They fused their love of the blues with elements of pop, rock, psychedelia, folk and African rhythms, producing an unprecedented blend of superlative songwriting with powerful improvisation.

Nearly sixty years later, Ginger’s son Kofi on drums, Jack’s lad Malcolm on bass and Ginger’s grand nephew Rob Johnson on guitar, celebrate their family legacy as the Sons of Cream that has had audiences across the UK, the USA and Europe totally captivated and reacting with standing ovations.

Quite simply, it’s a not to be missed concert of blistering blues rock performed by the true inheritors of this unique and unparalleled tradition.

But this isn’t a tribute act that plays the music exactly as it was performed before. It is purely second nature for the Sons of Cream to dive inside the music and to bring it alive like a living organism, constantly morphing into something new. Although they have some pretty significant shoes to fill through with some kind of genetic imprint and intuitive sense, as well as years of performing alongside their fathers themselves, they have arrived at the true heart of what Cream’s music stands for and are truly making it their own.

Together, they are bringing the spirit, energy and audacity of the sounds of their fathers – and it is happening again at The CAT Club in The Robin Hood’s Pigeon Loft, across two shows on Sunday 11th May.

Please note: Sons of Cream play the Hanwell Hootie Festival in London, but this is their only solo appearance in the UK this May before they play Prague, and then go into the studio to record their debut album.

Happy Trails.

Unfortunately there is no disabled access to the Pigeon Loft.
